I was thinking of the songs that have been released in the past year or so, and which ones I really dug and would appear on my favorite songs of all time list, and I could only think of one: Won't Go Home Without You by Maroon 5. It's been out for over a year now, their new album, and I can't stop listening to that song.
To start off with, Adam Levine has an amazing voice. It just has this great, clean tone, and he just lives in falsetto. It's gorgeous. But the song itself is so needy, so regretful, so full of determination and love, there are times that I'll just listen to it on repeat, for hours. The music has some of the best chord changes, it draws you in.
The video, which I caught recently, manages to convey the whole vibe of the song, and it's mostly Adam Levine's doing. The video also manages to convey that Adam Levine is a fucking FOX, who I could watch and listen to endlessly and never get tired.
But the song, it's the best on their album -- both romantic and dance-able (fast or slow). It's one I'll listen to for ages.
