A co-worker of mine is going to Nahmakanta Lake Wilderness Camp this weekend for fishing and hiking and the like. He sent me the link, and I have to admit, it looks lovely. I know Maine relatively well, and have paid several visits to the expansive Baxter State Park, and that entire Millinocket area looks like a fucking postcard, it's so beautiful.
As far as Nahmakanta Lake Wildnerness Camp, I think I'd be willing to give it a try. Though for me personally, the words "lake", "wilderness", and "camp" are a little off-putting. And since I don't fish, I don't really know what I'd do up there besides stare at the scenery and possibly paint (which I'll be trying my hand at soon). But recently I've resolved to try to appreciate nature more -- or at least try not to be so scared by it. (I've been told that most bugs are not harmful. Until one comes up to me and offers me a latte, the jury is still out on that one.)
Ken, the co-worker who is going to this Nahmakanta Water Outside Nature Hiking Preserve State Park, tells me that nature is very relaxing to him, and that it could be relaxing to me. Well, what he said is "You seem waaaaaaay tense." And then he suggested nature. Nature, or shock treatments. Now, I consider spas and facials relaxing. But I can see how this nature thing could be relaxing. My sisters consider shopping relaxing. Though I enjoy shopping, I don't consider it relaxing at all.
So Ken's bringing me back pictures of my "homeland," and I will consider it as a possibility in the future. But meanwhile, if I'm going to dream of nature, I'm going to dream of Acadia National Park in autumn, the red granite beach, Bar Harbor, and York Beach.
As far as fucking Outlook 2007, I was considering writing it another letter, but it's no use. It knows it's a bastard and it doesn't care. WHY does it keep changing the text color to navy blue? It's so strange, and unprofessional! WHY do I have to constantly change the text color when I hit reply!?!? Oh, and this is the fucking WORST! Most of the time, when I hit reply, the email doesn't let me choose my own formatting, font, or font size. It's stuck in some kind of typewritery script that's size 14! None of us can fix it! And it happens to EVERYONE here at YSN! GAH!!!
I don't know why everyone is so excited for our transfer to the Outlook calendar. Yes, Meeting Maker is stupid and impossible to learn, but we know it! We know the deal with Meeting Maker! Once we transfer to Outlook, I will be one of the only people in the building who knows how to use it! Nearly everyone will be wandering blindly through its elevendy billion functions, trying to figure out how to schedule personal time, not even attempting to try and schedule a meeting with eight participants!!! I'm just waiting now for the moment in August when I miss a meeting with the Dean because Outlook is trying too hard to be intuitive!! DAMMIT.
Let's just say that this has not been a good Microsoft day for me. I'm going to go home now, to my Mac, and revel in its glory. *sob*

Outlook 2007 Questions and Answers
Why does it keep changing the text color to navy blue? - The default reply font color is navy blue. To change the default reply font color, click on Tools > Options. Go to the Mail Format tab and click on the Stationery and Fonts button. In the "Replying or forwarding messages" section, click on the Font button. Change the font color and click OK.
Why, when replying, is my text ugly as sin? - This is because the sender either sent you the e-mail in Plain Text (i.e. no formatting) or your default options are configured to reply in Plain Text mode. This means that your replies will look ugly, as it uses a fixed-width font. To change it to a much prettier style (i.e. HTML, which you are probably used to using), hit Reply to a message. In the Office Ribbon, click on the Options tab. In the Format section, "Plain Text" is probably chosen. Click on the "HTML" or "Rich Text" option and edit away.
What's up with this Outlook Meeting Request stuff? And why do we have to switch from Meeting Maker? - I can address this in further detail when you guys actually have it implemented :).
Happy computing! -Tyson
