Dear Outlook 2007,
I've taken this brief moment between composing and editing solicitations (with pen and paper) to think about the things I've said. And after realizing that nobody, human or software, is perfect, I realized that perhaps I've been a bit hard on you recently. We all say things in the heat of the moment that we might not mean. Or, in your case, in the heat of the moment when you're not working and making my life harder. Not only will I (for the moment) forgive you, I'll stop harping on you about things that I simply don't like. You are as God (or Bill Gates) made you, and you can't change just because I (and probably about half of the computer using public) would like you to.
Now, what will you give me in return?
Very Sincerely,
Liz

Nice first attempt at being accepting to a piece of software (from Microsoft, no less). Still sprinkled with sarcasm, but the half-hearted attempt at an apology is worth a gold star!
